Well after a day and a bit of travelling we have arrived. It is strange how you know that it is going to take you more than a day to travel to the other side of the world, and in our case we have done it a few times – but you still do forget. I don’t mind the travel , in fact I would probably say I enjoy it. The idea of sitting and reading or watching moves in fact kind of sounds like heaven.
Malaysia Airlines were really great, the flight from Melbourne to Kuala Lumpur was on a Boeing 777 (an aircraft type made famous sadly for another Malaysia Airlines flight) our connecting flight onto Heathrow a A380 Whilst the aircraft type for the second flight was newer, bigger and much more quiet, the crew, food and movie selections we’re great on both. Every time I board an international aircraft I realise how many movies I have missed. So as well as an airline review you see going to get a bit of a movie review.
The first of only two films I watched was “3 days to kill”.. I had heard nothing about this flick – apart from a review from Steve moments before I turned it on, and have to agree wholeheartedly with him – it is a good watch, and yes in I know Kevin Costner is in it ! It’s entertaining and quirky enough to make you smile – put it this way if I saw it advertised I’d watch it again!
The second movie I have heard a bit about and I know that a review on this can divide families – the Lego movie. No one will be surprised to hear that I am in the “what a great movie camp!”. I loved Emmett and Lucy, they were mtb! Some of the lines in this movie will be quoted for the foreseeable future. One of the best things a this movie is being able to change the personality of someone with a bit of nail polish remover – now that’s awesome ! Sadly I didn’t get to watch Horrible Bosses, which certainly had the bloke next to me laughing loudly in bursts.
After disembarked smiling on the inside and outside we made our way to one of the quickest customs experiences ( not counting Italy where the girl at the desk kept texting whilst looking at our passports). There were a number of other flights arriving at the same time but we were moved through very quickly then onto the underground to catch the tube to Kings Cross station – it was so very simple … But thats when the smiling stops…ah nothing quite like catching the tube with the normal commuters who are simply trying to make their way to work. It is just a pain – bags, being tired and crowds are not a great combination but hey we did it and made it to Kings Cross station and platform 2 with 3 minutes to spare ….
Off to York by train, with a pick up from Thrifty back to their depot. Into our Mitsubishi SUV and straight to Ampleforth Abbey Shop to see our boy!
