Today we had a slow start as we didn’t check into our hotel until nearly 2.00am… So we have a lateish departure of 11.00 which is kind of nice, a few of us are not feeling great, so it slow and steady as you go.
Today we are headed for the football and whilst a few of us are unconvinced about how entertaining it will be I can’t wait. We are headed for Pride Park in Derby where they will be looking horns with Brighton. Brighton are currently on the top of the ladder, with Derby just 4 points below in fourth position, so everyone is expecting an awesome game – and that is what we get. Our boys had the opportunity to walk around the pitch, and you will never believe what the tune of the Derby them song is… Drum roll please… Up the Gazaly..
There is massive security presence at the grounds and supporters are kept apart as you can see by the lines of security guards between spectators. It is a freezing night and is blowing ferociously, but we are undercover and rugged up so all is good in the world, we are treated with a 2/2 draw, which was a good result. All of our group were fully behind the Rams, and did our best to yell along with all the black and white fans, although at times it was difficult to distinguish what was being called. It was good fun, as the atmosphere was electric, Isaac and I were particularly pleased we got to see a football game!
