This morning we flew from Split to Milano by EasyJet, it was pretty straightforward even though we had to leave our lovely hotel at 6.20am, I know gasp what were we thinking.
Rather than taking a car organised by the hotel which was quoted at an unbelievable rate Dave arranged for a maxi cab to collect to collect us. We did discuss that perhaps hotels quote prices for transfers in the hope that no one ever takes one 😀. Split airport had a number of international flights leaving from it but still has the feel of a domestic airport. The flight with Easyjet is cheap (about $75 AUD each), very smooth and on time, so we arrive at Milan before lunch and make our way to the Starhotel Anderson which is very conveniently next to Milano Centrale. It is another lovely hotel which is just a little bit hip which I am lapping up before Pip and Dave go home and we are back to staying at camp sites with limited running water where we are concerned about falling victim to some random bug (just kidding Steve).

It is very hot in Milan and so we only go out for lunch and a quick recon of where we are staying, as tonight we are heading to a locals home to learn how to make Italian the way the locals do. We had an awesome time with six Americans asking pasta, lasagna and tiramisu, whilst drinking Processco and Chianti. Our lovely friends Ben and Cherie recommended this and it was great fun for the four of us to do before Dave and Pip return to Australia on Friday. It is very hands on and so we are all now experts (clear throat) on the composition of Italian food and how to make a cracking dessert 😀. And we finish the night with Limoncello (yummo)!
