Our final full day in Morocco

The landscape is so beautiful here as we drive through the mountains, along the side of the road there are many people making the arduous walk up the Atlas mountains. There are also lots of dogs roaming along the streets looking very relaxed apparently they are looked after by the town.

We are a bit sad that our time with Youssef is coming to an end, he has been so accomodating and we couldn’t recommend this company enough. Before being dropped off at our Riad Youssef took us to meet his boss who welcomed us into his home/office. It was truly lovely to enjoy mint tea and yummy homemade biscuits and lemon cake with Hamid, Youssef and Hamid’s toddler daughter. Otis here that we learn that Youssef is called beloved one – we all agree this name is very fitting for this very kind man.

As we were spending our last night at the Riad Andallaspa Pip and I decided to have a Hammam Spa. It was one of the most luxurious experiences of my life. Bathrobes and white crocs were waiting in our rooms and we then headed to the hammam (steam room) where we lay down and our bodies were splashed (back and front) by hot water and then scrubbed by purifying black soap as well as green tea and verbena using a kessa glove. We were in the hammam for about 30 minutes including being showered even our hair was washed using the most gentle oils.

Following this we had the most relaxing full body massage of my life. It was superb, the Argan Oil was so gentle on our skin. Pip and I came out of the spa 90 minutes later floating on air, just as advertised..it was “a beneficial ritual in lightness”.

A yummy final dinner, tomorrow we are heading back to Portugal. I have absolutely loved my time in Morocco 🇲🇦..
