A day out and about in Paris đź‡«đź‡·

We start our day at Atelier des Lumieres experience. A 29 bus from our place almost straight to Rue Saint-Mair where this museum. OMG I know that this has travelled around the world but seeing this in Paris is something else. We were both overwhelmed by how wonderful this was. There were a couple of options and we decided (of course) on the Van Gogh experience. It was wonderful 💕. If you are in Paris, I can not recommend enough that you take an hour to enjoy this complete immersion in the beauty and sorrow of Van Gogh. Steve was not convinced (in fact he was a bit non plussed about it) but enjoyed it so much we stayed to watch it twice. For us it was €18 each well spent.

Words can’t describe how lovely this was 💕

From here we caught a bus to Bibliotheque nationale de France. This beautiful building was once a palace (of course) built in the 17th century. It is a working research library and is as amazing as you can imagine. When you walk into the amazing Oval room it does feel like the books are talking to you. I could have stayed here all day, sitting among the books and the very bright people who are researching here, just amazing,

How gorgeous is this !

From the National library we went to the Opera national de Paris. It’s an hour walk or a 38 minute bus trip on the Line 89 bus. The Opera is €15.00 to enter and I must say it’s an extraordinary building. The building itself is so over the top it’s phenomenal but what I was most surprised about was the number of people who had a change of clothes for photos within the Opera. It was actually quite difficult to get a photo (but don’t you worry I managed) without someone else in it. I would recommend booking your ticket in advance so that you can avoid the queue, having said that my wait was probably less than half an hour… on a gloomy Paris day when everyone was looking for a chance to be inside.

My visit here confirmed that I would love to see an opera here one day. We’ll see 💗

Quite a long queue for those of us who hadn’t bought tickets in advance
This reminds me a little of Versailles

Tonight we went back to a restaurant that we visited last year and loved. The L’inde Restaurant Bar is just as great as it was last year, and we had some of the best service we have received in Paris.
