A night in Doha and we are on our way to Venice

The rabbits were kicking up a storm as we made our way to Doha, so I couldn’t resist taking this photo.

Given that we had a ten hour stopover in Doha we made the really sensible decision to book a night at the Oxyr Hotel for at the airport. Doha airport is attractive and busy. When we got off the 14.5 hour flight, finding our way to the hotel was nothing short of miraculous… fortunately we found someone to ask in the almost deserted transit hall and felt like we walked the entire length of the airport. I guess the good thing was that having walked most of my 10,000 steps I know where I can get a massage and spend whatever money we have left when we return at the end of August.

The room was nice with one of those lovely rainfall showers so it was fantastic to recharge for our next must shorter flight to Venice.

I always love a great train journey and we had a short one of those this morning from the hotel to our gate lounge ( if only we had known about this last night).

Once at the departure lounge we seemed to wait for hours while they boarded us one by one (well that’s how it felt).. not the most streamlined process but at least we were feeling pretty great having showered, slept and helped the local economy by purchasing a 9.00 AUD coffee 🕺🏼🕺🏼🕺🏼.

Now on our way to Venice … wahoo..
